Bill of Sale by Phone for Free

Monday, March 1, 2010

Selling a car can be a big hassle, as can be the state-required paperwork involved.

Now, a company called MobileTrac has introduced instaVIN, a 50-state bill of sale document service -- offered free until March 1 to publicize the new service.

Dealers and consumers can access complete bill of sale instructions and documents relative to their state’s requirements, which will help them deal with the nasty paperwork without touching any paper. Unlike CarFax and Auto Check, instaVIN is a vehicle history service that gives you real-time accident history online and by text message.

“It’s instaVIN’s goal to provide dealers and private-party buyers and sellers valuable tools they need to evaluate and document buying or selling a pre-owned vehicle,” said Jim Irish, CEO of MobileTrac. “We are offering a free bill of sale service until the beginning of March as a way of letting users familiarize themselves with the comprehensive suite of product and service offerings instaVIN has available to help them buy or sell a car. This service is essential when buying or selling a vehicle over the Internet or across state lines.”

With instaVIN’s step-by-step instructions, buyers and sellers can easily navigate through a properly recorded vehicle transaction. Once the buyer and seller have committed to the deal using the pre-sale agreement and deposit slip provided with the service, they can certify the sale with a comprehensive sales agreement, including “sold as is” and warranty clauses. As a final step, instaVIN provides immediate access to a state-specific bill of sale for all 50 states.

Each step allows both parties to agree formally on all aspects of the sale without any hidden costs. The company will also begin providing accident history reports online or on your mobile phone, starting at $1.99 for the first report and $2.99 for each subsequent report in early March.
